I bloody love a blogger event, and in my time I've been to a few cool ones. But in Cardiff, I always find that their either aren't any happening or I'm always at work when they're on. A couple of weeks ago, I was finally free for a blogger event and I am so so glad I got to go because I made some lovely friends and tasted some amazing cocktails.
So, a bit of background. Bootlegger is a jazz, swing and 50's rock and roll themed bar. It is located on Womanby Street (Where Full Moon used to be) opposite Clwb Ifor Bach. We were greeted outside the the owner of the bar, Lee. He explained to us that Bootlegger was formed in Bristol and is very successful. Bootlegger opened in Cardiff about two weeks ago now and has already had 2000 people through its doors. We were so eager to get inside and have a look round. I absolutely loved the decor of the bar, it was full of hanging lights, brickwork and photos. There are two main bars inside, the Gin Bar and then the Moonshine Bar. We headed down to the Moonshine Bar after taking a ton of photos inside.
The menu consists of 107 cocktails which is pretty impressive. There is also a happy hour where you can get two selected cocktails for £10. We took so long swooning over the extensive menu - one of the cocktails has Crunchy Nut Infused Milk in????? Amazing! After taking a million years to decide what we wanted to try. I went for Mr Lover Lover which consists of Dark Rum, Passion-fruit Syrup, Pineapple Juice, and Fresh Raspberries. Oh. My. God. It was incredible, I am sucker for a fruity cocktail and this was right up my street. The second cocktail I tried was the Mango Bango, this consisted of Sailor Jerry Spiced Run, Mango Syrup, Prosecco Top and Fresh Lime. Again, another fruity cocktail but it was soooo good! I think I preferred the first one out of the two, but the Mango Bango was still lovely! One of the girls I was with Zoe, had a Jaffa Cake Espresso Martini, i'm not a lover of Espresso Martini's but this was delicious!!
Towards the end of the evening, a duo started to perform which was really lovely and added to the atmosphere of the bar. The singer was absolutely incredible and it seemed like the perfect place to head to for a couple of drinks after a long day in the office.
Overall, I would definitely reccomend going to Bootlegger if you enjoy a good cocktail or two, they have so much choice that you'll definitely find something you love! I had such a good evening, and it was great to finally meet some girls that I had spent hours talking to on Whatsapp. We spent all evening laughing, chatting about our lives and sipping cocktails on a Wednesday evening.

Have you been to the Bootlegger? Which cocktail would you pick?
