You've probably forgotten about me since it's been so long since I last wrote a blog post, despite promising I would be an amazing blogger and be posting regularly. But my life has been a crazy whirlwind at the moment as I'm actually becoming an adult (ahhhh its so scary!!). I have a new job, I'm moving into a new flat today (ahhh) and I have found myself a very lovely man who is now my boyfriend :) I now promise that once I am settled into my new flat, and into my job that I will be posting regularly (I pinky promise!!!).
Now onto this post.. I was recently contacted by Boohoo asking if I would like to be part of their new campaign which is Bloggers X Dress Of The Month. They were sending out a secret dress to the chosen bloggers and the aim of the campaign is to see how each blogger will adapt to their body type, personal style and breaking the 'rules' of what 'can' and 'can't' be worn by each individual.

This campaign is for each blogger to embrace new trends, ignore the rules of fashion and leaving their comfort zone. I really love the idea of this campaign, I'm a fussy dresser so the thought of having to wear a dress that I hadn't picked out terrified me. It's like blind dating, but in the shopping world!

When I received this dress I was actually shocked that I liked it. With dresses especially I'm really fussy just because I absolutely hate getting my legs out and avoid it at all costs. So seeing a maxi dress (that actually fitted me length wise - because I am a tiny 5ft 3 human) pleased me so much. This dress was definitely out of my comfort zone, I'm more of a plain Jane kind of girl when it comes to prints (except stripes obviously, because who can resist a good stripe!).

I'm not really a heels kind of girl, so even though this dress would look gorgeous with a killer pair of heels, I decided to pair it with my trusted Missguided lace up flatform trainers. I think this dress could be styled both casually and dressy. Obviously this was how I felt most comfortable and I think it works! All I did was curl my hair and pop some Tanya Burr 'Martha Moo' on and I was ready to go.
I think what makes this dress so special is the plunge neck and the front slits, it mixes it up and really shows off your assets. This dress is great for moving into the autumn months with the dark colours and long sleeves - also would look lovely with a black leather jacket!
What dress would you choose to step out of your comfort zone? To find a gorgeous selection of dresses head over to Boohoo and see what you can find!
