I Heart New York - Lindsey Kelk Review

So, as you are already aware, I am part of the Bloggers Book Club, which was organised my the lovely Fluer! This month it was my turn to choose a book. I couldn't think of what to pick because I had read everything on my bookshelf a million times. I decided to ask my bestie Ellie what she would recommend. She told me about Lindsey's books, how she loved them and that they were some of her favourites. She told me to read the 'I Heart' collection because they were really good! I took Ellie's advice and pick the first book of the I Heart collection, I Heart New York.

Now I have to say, this immediately turned into my favourite book. First chapter in I was completely lost in the story. I fell in love with the characters, the story, how the book was written. I have to admit it is quite a girlie book, but bloggers, you need to read this book.

I started reading this whilst going through a very crappy period and this book completely picked me right back up and put me onto my feet. If you want to read about that and how the book made me feel so much better see my previous post. In this period I had completely lost all inspiration for anything, and especially blogging. I found it so difficult to think of things to write, or even add text to drafts I already had saved. I just didn't feel like I loved anything to talk about it, or even really interact with anyone. I found this book so inspirational, and felt like it was really connecting to me, and because of this I felt like I was living with the characters, that their problems were mine, and once the problems had been resolved, mine had as well.

The way the book was written is probably my favourite thing. Its written in the style very similar to how Carrie Bradshaw writes in Sex In The City. I absolutely love the tone of the writing, which made this really enjoyable for me to read.

This book has completely inspired me to not only starting writing on my blog again, but write it my own style, in a way that I would like to think to be similar to how Carrie Bradshaw writes, and how Angela writes in the book. It's made me not want to just stick to writing about make-up, fashion and a couple of day trips I went on. But to really explore topics and give my take on them.

I completely 110% recommend this book if you are feeling uninspired, and to be honest, even if you are currently inspired. It is such a lovely, easy book to read that you really get caught up in. To the point that I had read ten chapters before I even knew about it!

Have you ever read any Lindsey Kelk books? Does it inspire you in any way?
